What Your Schedule Isn’t Telling You

Sunday, Oct 4, 2026  |  2:15 PM – 3:15 PM MDT  |  Location: Summit 6-7

Presented by Graham Briggs, PE, Director, HW Lochner; Ferras Haidar, Deputy Chief – Project Controls, Capital Program Support, MBTA; Jesse Heimowitz, Vice President and Rail & Transit Sector Lead, Tectonic Engineering Consultants; Dana Hecht, Director of Program Delivery, H&H; and Julie Doyle, Senior Consultant, PMA Consultants.

Most project schedules contain thousands of activities, yet the people making key decisions often lack the information they need. Construction managers do not need more activity IDs and logic ties — they need a clear view of schedule health, risk, and upcoming decisions.

Schedules are often treated as the project’s single source of truth, but they can hide unrealistic assumptions, missing scope, weak logic, and emerging risk. Without structured review and clear executive reporting, critical issues can stay buried inside complex CPM networks. This session shares practical techniques owner and CM teams use to evaluate, challenge, and validate schedules before issues become project problems, showing how to spot weak logic, unrealistic float, and schedule assumptions that don’t hold up, and how to translate those findings into dashboard reporting that supports better decisions.

Managing Risk, Change, and Claims in Volatile Project Environments

Tuesday, Oct 6, 2026  |  11:00 AM – 12:00 PM MDT  |  Location: Crest 3-4

Presented by Mohammed Aljuboori, CCM, PMP, MCPPO, Director, PMA Consultants, LLC.

Volatile market conditions have exposed a gap in traditional contract administration: many standard procedures were not built for rapid, unpredictable change. Supply chain disruptions, inflation, labor shortages, and shifting regulations can create risk events faster than project teams are prepared to manage them.

This session offers an owner-focused playbook for managing risk, change, and claims when conditions are unstable and decisions must be made with incomplete information. Drawing on real-world lessons from complex public and private programs, participants will examine how construction managers can strengthen professional judgment, improve documentation discipline, and proactively use contract mechanisms to maintain accountability and trust.

Interactive case scenarios will give attendees practice evaluating risk events, preparing defensible documentation, and applying structured decision frameworks. Attendees will leave with practical tools they can use immediately, including a rapid-response change management workflow, a risk triage matrix, and a documentation checklist designed for volatile project environments.
