What are you passionate about and how do you pursue that passion at PMA?
Many owners and Institutions struggle with utilizing technology efficiently in their organizations. I strive to help those organizations bring people, processes, and technology together to improve not only how they function, but what they provide to their clients and stakeholders. My passion for this endeavor, and the satisfaction that I get from seeing those impactful changes—from city governments to large private organizations—are what makes me get up every day. PMA allows me to engage clients and get them to the next level.
What current project(s) are you working on?
Currently I am working on the UMass Chan PMIS Implementation, Massport PMIS Upgrade.
Who/what inspires you to push yourself? (Personal heroes, family members, ideas)
My wife has done all of the heavy lifting raising our kids while they were growing up; she can multi-task like no one I have ever known. Every day she makes me want to be the best version of myself; she is my inspiration and has always pushed me to do more and believe in myself and my abilities. She is my best friend.
What are the most positive aspects of working at PMA? Or Share your impressions of PMA’s culture.
I have not been at PMA long, but I like the ability to be creative and engage with clients easily.
What is something innovative happening in your industry that makes you excited about the future?
The collection of large sets of data and then using AI in a transformative manner is a very cutting-edge thing right now. I do not feel AI will “take over” people’s jobs in the industry but will allow for better decision making by project managers and others.
What university or college did you graduate from?
BS Economics, Iowa State University, Ames, IA 1988
BBA Computer Information Systems, Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton FL, 2000
MBA Management Information Systems, Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton FL, 2009
Graduate Certificate, Information Security Management, University of West Florida, Pensacola FL 2021
What is your favorite local establishment/feature (restaurant, museum, stadium, etc.)?
At home I live to go to Padrino’s, a small family-owned chain in South Florida that has great Cuban food. They opened a new location in Plantation that looks great and has a nice vibe.
If I am traveling and find myself in San Diego, I love Don Tommy’s on Voltaire—a small hole in the wall but has the best tamales and the tortillas are homemade.
Provide a fun fact or secret talent about yourself?
I play guitar for fun only and have a nice Michale Kelly semi-hollow electric guitar that I like to play around with and an exceptional acoustic Breedlove Pursuit Exotic in Myrtlewood that sounds awesome!
