Solving the Delay Problem: GPM As-Built Schedule Compression—Prior to RP 29R-03, using the fully progressed update as the natural as-built schedule was not a consideration. Instead, forensic schedulers measured delay by impacting the as-planned schedule or by building a simplified as-built schedule and used manual as-planned vs. as-built or as-built schedule collapsing heuristics. In the early 2000s, algorithmic time impact methods that use CPM software to re-process archived schedules portraying what was supposed to happen, gained ground over collapsed as-built schedule methods. By algorithmically crashing delays from a fully progressed update using GPM software, as-built schedule compression synergizes prior post-completion delay theories.
