Effective project management requires developing and maintaining both summary and detailed project schedules for all project phases. Schedule management starts well before construction begins, ideally in the planning phase where each task associated with design, bidding, construction, and commissioning is scheduled to avoid project delays. After identifying the general scope of a project, we prepare an integrated project summary schedule. This initial schedule is reviewed with all project stakeholders to obtain buy-in. We then update it regularly based on our review of schedules provided by the designer and the contractor.
