Orlando International Airport South Terminal Complex
Overview
The new 500,000-square-foot South Terminal at Orlando International Airport (OIA) will ultimately double the size of the existing North Terminal which is being renovated to accommodate more than 45 million passengers per year. The terminal will include multimodal transportation; a 2,400-space parking garage; an additional 120 gates, upgraded “On-Demand” facility expansion capabilities; increases to non-airline revenue opportunities; remote check in; and an improved passenger circulation that includes an internal automated people mover system to allow for secure passenger connectivity (domestic and international) to all 120 gates and to reduce walking distances.
PMA Role
PMA was tasked to provide an opinion of probable cost estimate for the expansion project. PMA staff used their extensive cost estimating experience in the construction industry, standard industry sources, computerized cost estimating systems, and other special tools, developed in-house by experienced estimating staff to arrive at a detailed and accurate cost estimate.
