UMBA University of Massachusetts Amherst Sustainable Engineering Laboratories
Overview
This $125 million University of Massachusetts Amherst project provides a 70,000-SF research building with lab space, lab support, core facilities, and learning lab commons for its engineering school campus. The space is designed to support the general engineering school community, Wind Energy Center, Ocean Renewable Energy/Wave Lab, the Transportation Research Center, Center for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Northeast Climate Adaptation Science Center, and the Materials Science and Engineering Program. This new building will serve as a model and living laboratory platform for the campus to counter the effects of climate change. The building project sustainability goals include achieving Net Zero, LEED Platinum, and the highest possible compliance with the LEED Zero Program.
