Overview

This project involved two major efforts: a master plan study of all Town of Saugus schools and the construction of a new Middle-High School with stadium. The master plan study determined the ideal configuration for Saugus Public Schools should include renovation of the existing Middle School to accommodate grades 3 through 5 and district administration, as well as an addition/renovation to the Town’s newest elementary school to accommodate grades Pre-K through 2. The anticipated master plan project costs are approximately $25.4 million. The master plan and feasibility study also determined the need for a new $160.7 million Middle-High School for grades 6-12. The partially MSBA-funded Middle-High School project received LEED-Platinum certification. In addition to its LEED Platinum certification, the project has been recognized by numerous respected awards programs for its success and innovation in both design and construction:

  • Engineering News Record 2021 New England Regional Best Projects – Top K-12 Education Project
  • Learning by Design 2021 Educational Facilities – Grand Prize Award
  • American School & University 2021 Architectural Portfolio Awards – Outstanding Project
