Massport Net Zero Climate Action Plan Project Management Office
Overview
Massport’s Net Zero Climate Action Plan is an ambitious goal to achieve Net Zero by 2031 for items directly controlled by Massport-owned facilities, equipment, and purchased electricity. Massport has established a road map to reduce carbon emissions across all its facilities through tangible steps that reduce greenhouse gas emissions through five distinct pathways: improving facility energy conversation and efficiency, transitioning to clean and renewable energy sources, promoting sustainable ground transportation, focusing on partnerships and community, and creating a culture of sustainability and innovation.
PMA Role
PMA provides program management services to Massport. The team developed a work plan that provides a path to achieve Net Zero goals. Tasks that have been supported by PMA include identifying a strategy and a work plan to achieve significant goals, developing key objectives and key performance indicators that demonstrate progress and highlight areas that require additional support, and establishing tools and processes that allow the team to meet the goals. Other responsibilities include monitoring the plan’s progress, providing education and driving outreach, leading organizational change management, providing reporting tools, establishing a baseline, and updating the plan as necessary to account for changes.
